Mission Ethiopia

Wednesday 9th of February 2011 was the day that Rev. Dr. Mbillah, the General Adviser (GA) of PROCMURA, proceeded to Ethiopia for a preliminary visit that set to put in place the bedrock for a proposed Christian-Muslim Religious Leaders Conference. The meeting which is scheduled for later on this year, allowed the General Adviser to have consultations with major figures of religious organisations and various partners. The meetings served as a chance to lay the ground work for the upcoming conference and deliberate over weighty matters with numerous stakeholders in the religious community, specifically Christian and Muslim Leaders, and the civil society.

The sojourn also allowed the General Adviser meet up with African Union representatives that commended the efforts that PROCMURA was putting in place towards realising sustainable peace through fostering mutual co-existence and collaboration.

This was also a perfect opportunity for the GA to hold various discussions with heads of training institutions for men and women of the cloth, with respect to Christian-Muslim relations. In particular he congratulated the Ethiopia Evangelical Church, Mekane Yesus (EECMY) Seminary who recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary.
